Arlen Mansfield Scott 87, of McGehee passed away Monday, January 07, 2013 at McGehee Desha County Hospital in McGehee.
Mr. Scott served as a pharmacist mate in the US Navy during WWII. He worked for AT&T for 30 years before he retired.
He was born to the late Charlie Mansfield and Henry Elizabeth O’Neel Scott on July 28, 1925 in Tyro, AR. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Pamela Taylor and a sister Carolea Hassard.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife Anna M. Scott of McGehee, AR, a son Richard (Karen) Scott of Union, MO, a daughter Lydia Blackburn of Grandbay, AL, a brother Noel Dane Scott of Clammons, NC, a sister Beth Backus of Rustin, LA, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm Friday, January 11, 2013 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. Graveside service will be 11am Saturday, January 12, 2013 at O’Neel Cemetery in Lincoln County with Rev. James Calhoun officiating.
