Raymond Lee Deaton, 73, of McGehee, AR passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 at his home in McGehee. Mr. Deaton was a member of South McGehee Baptist Church and former owner and operator of Champion Service Station in McGehee. He loved to hunt, fish, play cards and dominoes.
He was born to the late Gertrude “Gett” and Edna Gwin Deaton on May 23, 1939 at Trip Junction, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Olin Deaton, a sister Dorothy Neal, great-grandson Carson Hays and nephew John Olin Deaton.
Mr. Deaton is survived by the mother of his children and long time companion Mary Jane Deaton;, two sons Donald Ray Deaton (LRhonda) and Roy Lee Deaton (Faye); nephew Billy Deaton (Shelia); four grandchildren, Drew Jamison (Kirbi), Christopher Barley, Whitney Hays (Jacob), and Jacob Deaton; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Jamison, Hunter Hays, Addison Hays.
Visitation will be 4-6pm Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. Graveside service will be at 10am Monday, May 20, 2013 at McGehee Cemetery with Rev. Terry Morgan officiating.
