Obituary for Annie Bea Charleston (Woods)

Annie Bea (Woods) Charleston, age 85, of Arkansas City passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at McGehee Desha County Hospital in McGehee, AR.
Mrs. Charleston retired in 1999 from the Desha County Courthouse after 30 years of service in various capacities. She enjoyed serving as a foster grandparent at Arkansas City High School for several years. She also served faithfully as the Senior Deaconess at First Baptist Church in Arkansas City until her health started to fail.
Mrs. Charleston an only child was born to the late Beatrice Burns and Eddie Woods on July 29, 1927 in Indianola, MS. She is also preceded in death by first husband Rev. David P. Parker, second husband Willie L. Charleston and grandson Dameion D. Bryant.
She is survived by two daughters; Sharon A. Parker (Jay E. Surratt) of Greendale, WI and Charles Etta (James) Benton of Milwaukee, WI, sister Lettie Lee Bell of Grand Rapids, MI, a godson Walter (Loretta) Jackson, Jr. of San Bernardino, CA, one grandson David-Jay P. Surratt of Greendale, WI, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her First Baptist Church Family of Arkansas City.
