Martha Jane Peacock, 83, of McGehee, AR died November 24, 2013 in Little Rock, AR. Martha Jane was born in Oklahoma City, OK on July 7, 1930 to the late J.E. and Delilah Chandler Yother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and working in her flower garden. She was also a member of First Assembly of God Church of McGehee where she was actively involved. She was a member of the Lost Cherokee Tribe of Arkansas.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Melvin F. Peacock; son, Russell D. Peacock; brothers, J. D. Yother and Thelmer Yother; sister, Edith Jones. Survivors include her sons, Jerry E. (Evelyn) Peacock of Lake Providence, LA, Don F. (Linda) Peacock of McGehee, AR, Jimmy W. (Deborah) Peacock, Odessa, TX; sister, Clemmie Yother of McGehee, AR; daughter-in-law, Joyce Peacock of McGehee, AR; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at First Assembly of God in McGehee, AR with Rev. Terry Morgan officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Drew County, AR.
