Nora (Momma Johnson) Johnson, 80, of McGehee, AR died Saturday, December 19, 2015.
She was born in Dumas, Arkansas on December 23, 1934 to the late James Riley Merrell and Girtie Edwards Merrell. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker, a babysitter to most of McGehee and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in McGehee, AR. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband Roy Lee Johnson of McGehee, AR;, son, James Johnson and wife Renee of Clinton, AR; daughters, Linda Ward and husband Jerry of Collins, AR, Brenda Bramlet of Kilmichael, MS, and Sandra Murphree and husband Alfred of Tillar, AR; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents she was preceeded in death by four brothers, Sam Merrell, Howard Merrell, J.C. Merrell and James Riley Merrell Jr.; two sisters, Dorothy Bradley and Inez Williams. Visitation will be Monday, December 21st from 5-7 P.M. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. AR. Funeral Services for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 22nd at Liberty Baptist Church in McGehee, AR with Bro. Steve Fleming officiating. Burial will be in Tyro Cemetery under the direction of Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of McGehee.
