Obituary for Charles Nathan Dodds, Jr.

Charles N. Dodds, Jr. died suddenly at his home Dec.5, 2016. Chuck was a wonderful and loyal brother and friend. He quietly gave of his time and energy to the McGehee Food Pantry and to projects at the Presbyterian Church. He donated blood at almost every blood drive (literally gallons). He often helped friends get to their medical appointments. He had a keen sense of humor, a love of family, and a true appreciation of his friends. He loved music, the Arkansas countryside, the Mississippi River, and certainly, his Irish setters

Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Charles Dodds (in 2003) and Eleanor Dodds (in 2009).
He is survived by his sisters, Shelby Anne Kaider (and her husband Al) of Southport, ME, and Sue Dodds Pitt of Louisville, KY; 2 nieces, Eleanor Wilson (and her husband, Brice and their children, Eleanor and Henry) of Catonsville, MD and Marcella Kragel (and her husband Douglas and their children, McKenna, Max, and Charlotte, of Louisville, KY, as well as his uncle and aunt, Owen and Jane Dodds of Star City, AR and his aunt Arralee Matthews Presley of Baton Rouge, LA and many cousins.

At Chuck’s request, there was no formal service, but those of us who love him urge you to remember his sense of humor and his kindness ---and to cherish your family and friends, especially this season. In remembrance, consider a donation to the McGehee Food Pantry, P.O. Box 903, McGehee, AR 71654 and the First Presbyterian Church of McGehee. 302 N. 4th Street, McGehee, AR 71654.
