Thad Ridge Dunahoe, age 79, died December 22, 2016, in McGehee, AR.

He was born July 10, 1937 in Rohwer, AR, to Christine Ridge Dunahoe and Fred Dunahoe. He was a lifelong resident of Desha County with all of his adult years in McGehee, AR.

Thad was a 1955 graduate of McGehee High School. He was a starter for the McGehee Owls basketball team, winning the district championship his senior year.

He was a farm equipment salesman for Loyd Tractor Company. In later years he was the golf superintendent at Delta Country Club in McGehee.

Thad was an avid sportsman, serving as president of Desha Delta Hunting Club (formerly Desha County Conservation League) for forty years. He was a charter member of the McGehee Men's Club. He was a deacon of McGehee First Assembly of God Church where he was a member for 60 years. He was a Sunday school teacher and song leader, serving wherever God needed him.

Thad was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He never met a stranger. He was a friend to all and a mentor to many young people. He was a real people person and loved to make people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christine and Fred Dunahoe; his daughter, Sharon Kay Dunahoe Doherty, and two brothers, J.D. Price and Billy Price.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Naomi Palfreeman Dunahoe; two daughters, Twilla Hardin and Karon (Kent) White of McGehee; a dear brother-in-law, David (Shay) Palfreeman of Springdale, AR; son-in-law Robbie Doherty of McGehee; and sister Peggy Markham of Holliday, TN.
Grandchildren Clay (Sarah) Hardin of McGehee, Thad Ridge (Sara) Hardin of Conway, AR, Carl (Heather) Hardin of McGehee, AR; Ryan (DeAnna) Doherty of Monticello, AR; Neal Doherty of Bensalem, PA; Kara White Curtis; Justin (Marke) White of McGehee, AR.
Great grandchildren Thomas Clark Hardin, IV; Brooklyn Hardin; Thad Ridge Hardin, II, Brady Hardin, Layla Hardin, Claire Hardin, Whitlee Hardin, Ayden Doherty, Connor Doherty, Layne Curtis, Kaylee Curtis, Christian White, Cruz White, Kynleigh White, Mavryck White, and Saylor White.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 24 at 10 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church of McGehee. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Mark Palfreeman of Springdale and Pastor Terry Morgan of McGehee First Assembly of God Church as officiants.

Pallbearers include Clay Hardin,Thad Hardin, Carl Hardin, Ryan Doherty, Neal Doherty, Justin White, Butch Price, and Jon David Palfreeman.
