Obituary for Bobbie Sue Hayles

Bobbie Sue Hayles
Bobbie Sue Hayles died after a long illness on April 27, 2017 in Leander, Texas at the age of 84.
Bobbie was raised in Eudora, Arkansas by parents Bob and Ollie Bea Haddox. Soon after marriage, she and her husband Jesse moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where she graduated from the University of Corpus Christi (Texas A&M Corpus Christi) in 1964 with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Economics. She taught in the Gregory-Portland School District in Portland, Texas for 14 years before moving to Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she continued her education, earning a Master’s degree from McNeese University, and taught Special Education at Longville High School in the Beauregard Parrish school district until her retirement.
A lifelong learner, Bobbie was passionate about education and encouraged her three daughters to pursue their goals. Her graciousness and kindness knew no bounds. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Gillis (Louisiana).
Bobbie is survived by her children, Myra Jackson of Kansas City, Missouri, Donna Price of Leander, Texas, and Karen (Todd) Peet of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her sister Kathleen (Jimmie) Blount of Carrollton, Mississippi; grandchildren Bethany (Aaron) Peterson of Kansas City, Missouri, Angela Foster (Brian Gendron) of Leander, Texas, Matthew Jackson of Kansas City, Missouri, Jason (Jessie) Foster of Cedar Park, Texas, Timothy (Kasey) Jackson of Kansas City, Missouri, and Dr. Bradley Peet of New Orleans, Louisiana; and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Jesse, and sisters Alline Still and Patsy Beck.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 am on Friday, May 5 at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, Arkansas. The Reverend Glenn George of First Baptist Church of Gillis will officiate the ceremony.
