William Nute Brooks, Sr., 85, of Lake Village, AR died Tuesday, May 23, 2017.
He was born January 4, 1932 to the late Nute and Cinth Alridge Brooks. He was a longtime rice farmer and he loved to hunt and fish. His wife and his family were his world. He was a member of Bayou Mason Baptist Church.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Vertie Earlene Brooks; son, William N. Brooks, Jr.; sisters, Minnie Spears, Cora Carson, Martha Mengucci, Mittie Lee Baggett, Charice Stewart, Beatrice Sledge and Dorothy Brooks.

Survivors include sons, James Allen Brooks of Lake Village, AR, Joe Brooks and his wife Connie of Lake Village, AR, John Brooks of Lake Village, AR and Jerry Brooks of Monticello, AR; daughters Shirlene Hill Schenk and her husband Mark of Snyder, AR, Kathalene Williams and her husband Johnny of Lake Village, AR and Shirley Davenport Anderson and her husband James of Lake Village, AR; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of Lake Village, AR. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in Lake Village, AR with Rev. Phillip Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Village Cemetery. Arrangements by Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service.
