Mattie Ruth Ricks, 78, of Dermott, AR passed away Monday, July 9, 2018. Mattie was born in Montrose, AR on February 25, 1940 to the late Donnie and Irma Bonney Knight. She enjoyed gardening and canning fruits and vegetables. Mattie loved her family especially her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Monticello, AR.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George W. Ricks; son, David Ricks; daughter, Tammy Peacock.

Survivors include her son Harold Ricks and his wife Tommye of Clarksville, TN; sisters Ruby Almond of West Monroe, LA and Nancy Sturgeon of Star City, AR; Six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Friday, July 13, 2018 at the funeral home.
