Condolence From: Elizabeth Burt
Condolence: I worked with Norman for a long time at the VA. I always considered him to be a good friend with a big smile and an even bigger heart. Norman would go out of his way to help anyone and I believe he would have given the shirt off his back if he felt like you needed it more. He helped me through some rough times by always finding a way to make me laugh. He really loved practical jokes, even when he was the receiver. You could always find Norman enjoying his coffee at the Waffle House, where several of us would gather for conversation and laugh at some of the things Norman would come up with. I would help him on occasion by taking him to his appointments with the eye doctor. Norman was there to console me when I lost my mother and gave me words of encouragemnent when I needed it the most. He was a good worker and loved working with his fellow veterans. God has surely received an angel who will not need any practice at being one in Heaven as Norman was truly an angel while here on this Earth. I will miss him dearly and hope to, one day,in Heaven, sit with him over a cup of coffee and laugh at the things he says. Norman, I will miss you and you will always remain in my heart and in my prayers.

Condolence: I want to offer my deepest condolences to Norman's family. Norman was a very close friend of mine for many years when I moved to Arkansas in 1994. We had a special love and friendship all those years. He came to Arizona for a couple visits when I moved back to be near my aging parents. We had alot of good times, we went to the Grand Canyon and traveled around Arizona while he was there. He helped me and my family move to Tennessee in 2004 and called it an adventure. I had gypsy blood in me and could not stay in one place very long. The last months I will cherish, though they were hard because of his health problems we did have what he called another adventure I will miss him terribly but I know I will see him again someday in Heaven. Norman had alot of faith and no matter what he was going through, he had a smile.

Condolence: To Hector and all the family. Norman was a classmate of mine, we graduated from Dermott in 1972. Norman was a very kind, quiet person, a good guy. He also loved his mother and family. He would bring his mother to Bellaire Baptist and we would always visit and catch up. After his mother left, we lost touch. Our class is having our 40th reunion at the end of this month. I will be sure and let everyone know of his passing. Will be praying for your comfort and peace in the days ahead.

Condolence: I've known Norman since 2002. We have stayed in touch over the years and have eaten out from time to time. One of the things about Norman I will always remember is the smile on his face while someone was playfully aggravating him about something. He would play like he did'nt enjoy the attention, but, you could tell that he really did get a kick out of it sometimes. Especally when his coworkers or waffle house friends would jab him or play a practical joke on him. He will surely be missed by many, and I considered him one of my best friends. I will see him in Heaven some day!

Condolence: Norman and I came to the VA in 1976. I was also, a Nursing Assistant at the time. We would go to lunch. We would go to lots of dinners at night. We became good friends. I was so proud for him when he bought his first house in NLR. He was such a gentle soul. His laugh was so addicting. He would laugh and catch yourself laughing and smiling. He was a wonderful Nurse. He would do what ever needed to be done for the Patients and Nurses. He was a good friend to me. He touched my heart. I am so sorry for your loss. He will always will be remember as the kind soul he was. God Bless you'll all..Nurse Donna

Condolence: I worked with Norman at Ft. Roots for several years. While he had his own special way of doing things he was always dependable. He kept the 3K staff busy just trying to make him behave himself and eat properly. Of course, he had a mind of his own. It is always a special thing to have a place where you belong and I believe that Norman was at his best with the 3K staff and taking care of the veterans he loved. I think of him fondly and will miss knowing that he is not there.

Condolence: For the family of Norman: I am so sorry to hear about Norman passing. I worked with Norm for many years and he was always willing to help his coworkers and was always good with the patients. I last saw him before he retired and he looked tired and said he thought he might be retiring. He was a very, very sweet man and always willing to help others. I am sorry for your loss and you are in my prayers.

Condolence: Norm, I didn't know you very well or for very long, but you can tell a lot about a person by the quality of his friends; and, by that measure, you were certainly first-rate. You are well loved and your presence will be greatly missed!
