Robert Theodore Baker, 100, of Dermott, AR died Monday, August 14, 2017. He was born April 8, 1917 in Yell County, Arkansas to the late Robert Ashley Baker and Nela Taylor Baker. Robert was a member of Baker Hunting Club and Baker Brothers Quartet. He was a member of McGehee Church of Christ.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ophelia Baker; brothers, Leon Baker and Raymond Baker; sisters, Verdell McDonald and Verneal Allison; grandson, Earl King Long, Jr.; son-in-law, Earl King Long, Sr. Survivors include his son, Bobby (Gloria) Baker of Arkansas City, AR; daughter, Virginia (Jerry) Tefteller of Tillar, AR; brothers, Alfred (Pat) Baker of Tillar, AR and Lyndell Baker of Monticello, AR; sister, Laverne Chance of Enola, AR; grandchildren, Steven (Angel) Baker, Lorrie Long (Rusty) Meggs, Renee Long (Dick) Baxter, Jennifer Long (Shawn) Simmons, and Kerry Baker (Allen) Evans; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1-2pm Friday, August 18, 2017 at McGehee Church of Christ in McGehee, AR. Funeral Services will follow at 2pm at the church with Minister Rickey Eppes officiating. Burial will be at Tillar Cemetery. Memorials may be made to McGehee Church of Christ, P.O. Box 93, McGehee, AR 71654.
