Carolyn Ann Hogue Laster, 84, of Dermott, AR passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017. She was born in McGehee, AR on August 30, 1933 to the late D.J. and Mabel Elnora Haven Hogue. Carolyn married the late Don Franklin Laster on December 3, 1952. She worked with her husband as a rice farmer and truck dispatcher for many years. She was a member of Dermott Baptist Church and enjoyed knitting, reading and watching ball games.
Other than her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Roger Franklin Laster.
Survivors include her sons, David William (Angela) Laster of Caldonia, MS and Michael Allen Laster of Dermott, AR; daughter Donna Carol Laster (Joe) Barnard of Vicksburg, MS; sisters, Bessie Mencer of Dermott, AR and Shirley Appleberry of McGehee, AR; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 9, 2017 at McGehee Cemetery with Rev. Phillip Payne officiating.
