Vera Mae Preston, 80, of McGehee, AR passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, AR. Vera was born on April 8, 1938 to the late Lovell Robert and Lottie Mae Cosgrave Rader. She loved to fish and she enjoyed picking black berries to make cobblers. Vera was a Baptist.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Noah Preston; brother, Herman Rader; sisters, Ora Mae Rader and Martha Faye Rader.
Survivors include sons, Jerry (Sonda) Preston of Arkansas City, AR and Robert Preston of McGehee, AR; daughters, Catherine Reeves of McGehee, AR, Helen Langley of North Little Rock, AR, Patricia (Maurice) Nation of Taylor, AR and Barbara Cantrell of Taylor, AR; brothers, Warren (Sarah) of Arkansas City, AR, Lester (Betty) of Arkansas City, AR and Clarence (Lillie) Rader of McArthur, AR; grandchildren, Dannie Langley, Cathy Deaton, Pricilla Deaton, Bryan Noah Cantrell, Amanda Frazier and Amber Cantrell; 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Monday, June 25, 2018 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Kelso Cemetery with Pastor W. H. Ashcraft officiating. Arrangements by Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of McGehee, AR.
