Obituary for James Morgan

James Morgan, 89, of Forney, Texas passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018. James was born October 5, 1928 in Leachville, Arkansas to the late Joe and Nellie McPherson Morgan. James served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received a Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, 2 Bronze Service Stars and a Bronze Star Medal. He formally lived in the Bellaire Community and worked 41 years as the manager at Lephew Gin in Dermott, AR. James loved the Lord and his family. Children held a special place in his heart. He enjoyed reading the God’s Word, gardening, woodworking and several other crafts. He volunteered numerous hours to maintenance of church grounds and assistance to his great nephew and niece in their scouting and band careers. He was a member of Forney United Methodist Church in Forney, TX and formally a member of First United Methodist Church in Dermott, AR.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Survivors include his niece, Arlanda Redman and her husband Clifford Redman of Forney, TX; great nephew, Brent Allen Redman; great niece, Cecily Jean Redman; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10-11am Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Dermott Cemetery.
