Helen Lorraine Hays, 100, longtime resident of McGehee, AR passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at Mountain View Health and Rehabilitation in Mountain View , AR. Mrs. Hays was born in Florence, AR to the late James Earl and Ola Harper Hoover. She formerly worked at Birch’s Jewelry Store and volunteered for many activities at McGehee Schools. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of McGehee. Mrs. Hays loved to crochet and work in her yard and flower garden.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband G.W. Hays; son, Larry Hays; grandson, Greg Hays; sister, Mignon Henley; brother, Royal Hoover.
Survivors include her daughter Betty Corder and her husband Bill of Mountain View, AR; grandchildren Chris Hays, Ryan Corder and Lance Corder; great-grandchildren Josh Hays, Jarrod Hays, Jacob Hays ,Jordan Hays and Wilson Hays; seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7pm Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of McGehee, AR. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at First Baptist Church of McGehee, AR.
