Geneva Mae Tipps, 68, of Dermott, AR passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019. Geneva was born in Rustin, LA on September 17, 1950 to the late Odes and Mildred Linton Herring. She worked as a teacher’s assistant at Dermott Public Schools for several years. She loved to play board games and she was her family’s historian. She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by husband of 47 years Johnny Tipps; step-mother, Dorothy “Dot” Herring; sister, Rebecca Herring.

Survivors include sisters, Dianne Herring of Dermott, AR, Joyce Knight of Dermott, AR and Carolyn Herring of Monticello, AR; brother, Calvin Herring and his wife Mary of Phenix City, AL; brothers-in-law, Jerry Churchwell of El Dorado, AR, Clinton Tipps and his wife Pearlene of Lake Village, AR, Larry Tipps and his wife Gaye of Portland, AR; sister-in-law, Nan Price of Camden, AR; two special nephews Keith Churchwell of El Dorado, AR and Clinton Tipps, III of Shreveport, LA; several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 1-2pm Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Temple Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm at the church with Rev. Bobby Franklin and Rev. Jody Gannaway officiating. Burial will follow at Dermott Cemetery. Arrangements by Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of McGehee, AR
