Charles Ellis Hicks, 83, of Eudora, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in Monroe, Louisiana. Charles was born February 25, 1936 in McClelland, AR to the late Grover R. Hicks and Velma Stinson Hicks. He worked as a mechanic for Hicks Tractor Company for many years, the WB Loyd Company and he was the transportation supervisor for Eudora Public Schools for over 25 years. Charles enjoyed the outdoors and loved to work in his garden. He was a loyal friend, liked helping people and loved growing and sharing his garden vegetables with his family, friends and neighbors. He was a devoted husband and father.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty Lou Hicks and his brothers, Jimmy R. Hicks and Michael R. Hicks. Survivors include his sons, Allen (Jan) Hicks of Woodinville, WA, Kenneth Hicks of Hephzibah, GA and Richard Hicks of West Monroe, LA; daughter, Teresa (Frank) Edwards of Lebanon, TN; brothers, Bruce Hicks of Eudora, AR, Thomas Hicks of Dickson, TN and Donnie Hicks of Monticello, AR; sisters, Betty Sue Crippen of Mobile, AL, Patsy Whittington of Addis, LA, Becky Hoffman of El Paso, AR, Barbara Johnson of El Paso, AR and Cathy Jones of Carlisle, AR; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and numerous special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 1:00—2:00pm Friday, June 7, 2019 at Northside Baptist Church in Eudora, AR. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm at the church with Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church, 533 Cashion Street, Eudora, AR 71640 or Mt. Carmel Cemetery Association, P.O.
