Obituary for Billy Allen Garner
Billy Allen Garner, 51, of McGehee, Arkansas, a loving husband, dad and grand-dad died Sunday, June 16, 2019 in McGehee, AR. Mr. Garner attended Delta High School. Mr. Garner was a native and resident of McGehee. He was a farmer since the age of 14, farming with Eddie Young to get his feet wet. He has been a farmer for 37 years, with Matt Miles being his last partner. He was a member of First Baptist Church in McGehee. He was a member of many hunting clubs and of the McGehee Men’s Club. Mr. Garner was an avid outdoorsman. He loved his hunting trips to Kansas and also loved taking his grandson, Branson hunting.
He is preceded in death by his dad, Wilburn Garner. He is survived by his wife, Shannon Moreland Garner of McGehee; son, Chase Allen Garner and wife, Nicole of Hamburg; daughter, Megan LeAnn Garner of Bryant; his mother, Betty Garner of McGehee; brothers, Wayne Rowland and wife, Audrey of McGehee and George Garner of McGehee; sisters, Barbara Rowland of McGehee and Patsy Bittle and husband, Finis of Cominto; step-son, Bradley Snow and Alanna; step-daughter, Brittany Snow Harmon; grandsons, Branson Mallard and Beckett Garner of Hamburg; step-grandsons, Ayden and Remington Harmon and Layla Philips of McGehee and a host of nieces and nephews. Special family is Matt & Sherrie Kay Miles, Layne Miles and is wife, Ryane, Sydney Kay Day and her husband, Dustin, Luke Miles, Dawson and Thomas Day, Mike McGregor and his wife Shelly, Whitney, Madison, Makayla and McLauren McGregor, Rob Dedman and his wife, Jennifer, Dylan and Caleb Dedman.
Visitation will be held at 5:00-7:00pm, Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at First Baptist Church of McGehee, AR with Rev. Rick Miller Officiating. Burial will be at Tillar Cemetery in Tillar, AR. Pallbearers will be David Earl McNeely, Chris Golden, Charles Bullock, A.J. Bolling, Buddy Wells, Lamar Frisby and Chris Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matt Miles, Layne Miles, Mike McGregor, Rob Dedman, Kenneth Lamb, Eddie Young, Jimmy Rawson, Ralph Gustafson, Preston Sandlin, Bill Simpkins, J.P. Miles, Larry Don Miles, Colby Garner, Thomas Snow and Brannon Moreland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McGehee Men’s Club, P.O. Box 44, McGehee, AR 71654.
