Obituary for Linda Dale "Penny" Wargo
Linda Dale “Penny” Wargo, 80, of McGehee, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019. She was born in Kelso, Arkansas on June 27, 1939 to the late James Gordon Thurman and Eunice McIvoy Thurman. Penny graduated from Rhema Bible College at age 65. She was a caregiver for many people. Penny loved her family. She had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Wargo and her sister, Mary Snow. Survivors include her sons, Cal (Veronica) Wargo of Dermott, AR and Jeffery (Tammy) Wargo of Benton, AR; brother, Butch (Barbara) Thurman of Dumas, AR; sisters, Gaye Brown of White Hall, AR, Sherrie Ferguson of Rohwer, AR and Paula (Floyd) Hagood of Olive Branch, MS; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her care providers were her grandson, Chad and his wife Casey and granddaughter, Cheley Wargo.
Visitation will be held at 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 30, 2019 at McGehee Cemetery with Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Memorials may be made to Life of Faith Fellowship Church, P.O. Box 703, McGehee, AR 71654 or McGehee Cemetery Association, #7 Mangum Street, McGehee, AR 71654.
