Carolyn Maxine Burnett, 87, of Rohwer, Arkansas passed away Friday, September 20, 2019. She was born in Watson, Arkansas on December 10, 1931 to the late Willie E. Yates and Lydia Rowe Yates. Maxine loved her family and was very devoted to her darling husband, Elbert Burnett of 64 years. She was a member of Kelso Baptist Church in Kelso, AR where she was a member of the women’s Sunday school class.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Burnett and her son, Joel Burnett. Survivors include her son, Malcolm Burnett of Watson, AR; daughter, Lydia (Wally) Godfrey of Watson, AR; daughter-in-law, Debbie Burnett of McGehee, AR; brother, Paul (Laverne) Yates of North Little Rock, AR; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 1:30-2:30 pm Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at Watson Cemetery. Special thank you to the Dermott Nursing Home for the special care that was given to Maxine.
