Charles “P-Nut” Wayne Moreland, 77, of McGehee, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at McGehee Hospital. P-Nut served in the United States Army at Fort Hamilton in New York and was deployed to Germany for 2 years. He retired from the United States Postal Service in McGehee after 38 years of service. P-Nut also served as Election Coordinator for Desha County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved pitching horseshoes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, T.R. and Fannie Chambers Moreland, his brothers, James Theodore, Pete, Tommy, Ame, Neal and Carl Moreland; his sisters, Sue Hill and Doris Earline Moreland and son-in-law, Billy Garner.
He is survived by his wife, Lovie McGill Moreland of McGehee, AR; daughter, Shannon Garner of McGehee, AR; son, Brannon (Jennifer) Moreland of Fayetteville, AR; brother, Marlie (Faye) Moreland; sisters, Betty Thompson, Brenda (Charlie) Morgan, Glenda Ward of McGehee, AR and Debbie (Greg) Robinson of Whitehall, AR; grandchildren, Brittany (Mark) Harmon, Bradley Snow, Alanna Phillips, Carlie (Jacob) Waller, Keaton Moreland, Chase (Nicole) Garner and Megan Garner; great-grandchildren, Ayden Harmon, Remington Harmon, Layla Phillips, Branson Mallard and Beckett Garner and special caretaker, Patricia Austin. Special thanks to the staff of McGehee Hospital and McGehee Family Clinic for giving great care.
Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Friday, October 18, 2019 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the funeral home with Rev. Freddie McCann officiating.
