Obituary for Benjamin Lindsey Brown

Benjamin Lindsey Brown, 91, of Monroe, LA and formerly of Manhattan, KS passed away Monday, December 2, 2019. He was born October 12, 1928 in Clarksville, AR to the late Charles Faye Brown and Elizabeth Ruth Abney Brown. Ben served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Banking. He worked for twenty-eight years with Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation where he was the Examiner in charge. He enjoyed his work and loved playing Golf. Ben attended Manhattan Church of the Nazarene for many years.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Faye “Bud” Brown, Jr; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Brown Lilly; sister, Constance Abney Brown; nephew, Charles Michael Brown and great-nephew Joseph Brown.

Survivors include his wife of sixty years Stella Jean Shankle Brown; son, David Lee Brown of Kansas City, MO; nephew and wife Milton Lindsey and Holly Brown of Eudora, AR; niece-in-law Connie Brown of Mena, AR; great-nephews, Michael Lindsey and Tara Brown of Monroe, LA, Jeffrey and Krista Brown of West Monroe, LA and Vince Brown of Mena, AR; great-great-nephews, Davis Lindsey Brown, Tyler Michael Brown, Cameron Brown and Brady Brown.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, AR with Rev. Steve Myers officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 164, Eudora, AR 71640.
