Helen Geneva Ferguson Evans, 79, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020. She was born in Arcola, Mississippi on November 3, 1940 to the late O. D. Ferguson and Velma Wheeler Ferguson. Helen enjoyed cooking and her specialties were pecan pie and cornbread. She was a very active member of Halley Baptist Church before moving to northwest Arkansas, where she became a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Farmington, AR. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, training union, vacation bible school, GA’s and Awanna. Helen loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Evans; brothers, Sonny Ferguson and Deryl Ferguson; sister, Joyce Ferguson. Survivors include her son, Marty (Susan) Evans of Omaha, NE; daughter, Robin (Kenneth) Burchfield of Prairie Grove, AR; sisters, Frances Horne of Byram, MS, Erma (Junior) Fortenberry of Pelahatchie, MS, Dovie (Harold) Neese of Holcomb, MS, Ruby Bowman of Carthage, MS, Lois Foote of Pearl, MS, Cissy Bostain of Pearl, MS and Tina Hembree of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Brent (Sarah) Burchfield, Tyler (Kala) Burchfield, Logan Burchfield, Grayden Evans and Gabe Evans; great-grandchildren, Forrest Burchfield and Dixie June Burchfield.
A walk through visitation will be held at 12-1:30 pm Friday, September 25, 2020 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Graveside services will follow at 2:00pm at Halley Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating.
