Margarette Hinton Hill died peacefully at home with loved ones on November 9, 2020. Margarette is survived by her daughters, Jayne Hill (Larry) and Tarncy Olivi (Robert), all of Lake Village, AR; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley Hill; mother, Ina Greenwood Hinton (B-Ba); father, Earl Hinton; sisters, Louise Sammons, Jeri Lynn Bennett, Florence Durham and Kathryn Livingston.
In her last years she was lovingly cared for by her extended family, Shelia Brown, Ruby Porter, Sylvia Brown, Betty Adams and Sharron James, who gave her the ability to remain at home.
She loved her church and church family dearly. She was an active and dedicated member of Lakeside United Methodist Church where she sang beautifully in the choir for many years. She was one of the first members of the Civic Club and served the community by her work in several offices of the Chicot County Court House and the State Park.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Lake Village Cemetery with Rev. Buddy Ratliff officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all memorials be made to Lakeside United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 192, Lake Village, AR 71653.

I met Margarette when I went to work at Lake Chicot State Park in 1981. She was one of the first persons I met in the area and she was a good friend. I loved her smile and she was so much fun to work with. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Mam-waw was the center of her grandkids world. She hosted all the important & best family gatherings of our youth. It was always a treat to go there for Thanksgiving, Christmas, & Easter. I feel that some of the best memories that the Olivi & Hill kids have came during our times with her. And we rarely got out of line when she was around. Even the most mischievous of us knew to be on our best behavior when in her presence, cause mam-maw wouldn't take no sass. I remember watching the Lawerence Welk show at her house & listening to that type of music when riding in the car with her. And she usually had a peppermint to share. I also enjoyed looking through her photo albums at all the cool places she traveled. I know she is in a better place now & her spirit will live on through all the lives she touched.

What we will always remember most about Margarette was her contagious laugh and beautiful smile. She could light up a room with her laughter. She was a very special lady and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
With love and our deepest sympathy,
Vernon and Rachel McHan
