Obituary for Donald Gene Adams

Donald Gene Adams, 74, of Bellaire, Arkansas passed away at his home Friday, November 27, 2020. Don was born in Dermott, AR at St. Mary’s Hospital on July 2, 1946 to the late Glen and Audry Mae Adams. He was a long time farmer and retired in 2019 after 55 years of farming. Don was Farm Family of the Year for Chicot County in 1980 and 2008. He served as treasurer of Dermott Gin Company and as a board member of Chicot County Coop. Don was an avid turkey hunter and deer hunter. He loved his Colorado hunting trips with his long time hunting “buddies.” Don loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church for 65 years, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school director and on numerous committees.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Adams of Dumas, AR. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Kaye Adams; son, Stan (Missy) Adams of Bellaire, AR; daughter, Dina Adams (Juan) Flores of Largo, FL; sisters, Glenda (Don) Donaldson of Hope, AR and Delores (Mike) Livingston of Bellaire, AR; brothers, Charles (Wanda) Adams of Collierville, TN and Kermett (Brenda) Adams of Fresno, CA; sister-in-law, Cissy Adams of Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren, Hannah and Tate Adams of Bellaire, AR, Gabe, Jack and Graciana Flores of Largo, FL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at 5-7pm on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Dermott Cemetery in Dermott, AR with Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home, 222 W. Pope Street, Monticello, Arkansas, 71655.
