Shirley Ann Watts, 83, of McGehee, Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020. Shirley was born in Dumas, Arkansas on August 23, 1937 to the late Frank Morgan and Onie Frances Kitchell. She graduated from Arkansas City High School where she played on the girls’ basketball team. She worked at Safeway for many years. Shirley loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. She loved her church and was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church of McGehee, AR.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Billy Watts, Sr. and longtime companion Glendon Purdy. Survivors include her sons, Billy (Susan) Watts, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and Kevin (Donna) Watts of Lake Village, AR; daughter, Cynthia Jarrett and her husband, Owen Houston of Lake Village, AR; grandchildren, Jonathan Jarrett of Lafayette LA, William and Nathan Watts of Little Rock, AR and Hannah Lee Watts of Jacksonville, FL; 3 great-grandchildren and her extended family, the Singletons of Hope AR, along with the Terry’s and Purdy families of McGehee, AR.
