Medrith June Duncan, 94 of Dermott, AR passed away Friday, February 26, 2021. June was born October 2, 1926 in Springtown, Arkansas to the late Robert Ray Bailey and Eva Ruth Arnn Bailey. June enjoyed fishing, quilting and sewing. She loved gardening and canning vegetables. June was a former member of the Home Demonstration Club and 4-H Club in Chicot County. She was a very active member at Bellaire Baptist Church for many years, where she taught children’s Sunday school, Girls in Action, VBS and sang in the choir.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Duncan; sons, Jerry Duncan and John Paul Duncan; granddaughter, Christy Lynn Duncan; great-grandson, Kevin Scucchi and brother, Paul Bailey. Survivors include her son, Jimmy (Debbie) Duncan of Bellaire, AR; daughter, Janet (Thomas) Trigg of Bellaire, AR; daughter-in-law, Vickie Duncan Rulon; sister, Ella Mae (John) Bates of Lafayette, LA; sister-in-law, Glenda Bailey; grandchildren, Aleta Young, Jamie Duncan, Ray Scucchi, Jerry Duncan, Bryan Trigg, Desha Duncan and Amber Trigg; 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at 9:30am-10:30am Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Graveside services will follow at 11:00am at Dermott Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating.
