Obituary for Joseph Willard "Joe" Lawson Sr.
Joseph Willard “Joe” Lawson, Sr., 87 of McGehee, AR passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021. Joe was born September 3, 1933 in Hunter, Arkansas to the late Israel Rayford Lawson and Ida Vance Lawson. He was a lifelong resident of McGehee, AR. Joe was a hard worker, clearing land, farming, truck driving and a farm laborer. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in McGehee, AR.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Rayford Lawson and daughter, Millie Jo Lawson. Survivors include his sons, Joe (Sherry) Lawson of McGehee, AR and Roger Dale (Donna) Lawson of Harrison, AR; brother, Bluford (Barbara) Lawson of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Maxine Chance of Rogers, AR, Alice Thomas of Spring, TX and Susan Lawson of Lake Village, AR; grandchildren, Cody (Ashley) Lawson, Alissa (Tyler) Keeth, Dereck Bates, Tammy Jo Lawson, Shelly Roberts, Brad Day and Gail Herbert; numerous great-grandchildren; close friends, Shelia Gill and Bobbie Lampkin and the ladies at Commercial Bank in Monticello, AR.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Tillar Cemetery in Tillar, AR.
