Obituary for Percy Lafayette Morris, III

Percy Lafayette Morris, III of Winchester, AR, age 69, passed away on July 11th, 2021. He was born February 13th, 1952, to late parents Ruby and P.L. “Bo” Morris. He is preceded in death by his sister, Lydia Ann Morris Cowgill of Winchester, AR. He is survived by Dana Walker Morris of Winchester, AR, his wife of 29 years; his brother Phillip Morris of Tillar, AR; his sons Drew Morris of Fayetteville, AR, and Joshua Morris of Centerton, AR; his daughter Melinda Smith of Fayetteville, AR; and two grandchildren: Aiden and Kyleigh Morris both of Centerton, AR.

After graduating from Dumas high school in 1970, he attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Percy would later work with and beside his father on the family farm. In 1979, he produced his own first crop and would eventually assume responsibility of the entire family farm in 1981. After nearly 40 years of farming, he retired in 2018. Always a farmer at heart, Percy continued to work as needed alongside his brother Phillip whenever possible.

Percy loved to collect Native American artifacts. He also enjoyed landscaping and spent countless hours designing and improving the yard. When time allowed, Percy never passed up the opportunity to boogie down with the ladies at the local assisted living facility. He will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held 5-7pm Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Arkansas. Graveside service will be held at 10 am Thursday July 15, 2021 at Tillar Cemetery in Tillar, AR with Bro. Russ Jasper officiating.

The family is requesting gifts in memory of Percy to be made to the Micah 6:8 Ministry at Genesis Church in Fayetteville, AR at 205 Martin Luther King Blvd, 72701 or online at https://pushpay.com/g/micahhouse
