Obituary for Carolyn Sue Austin
Carolyn Sue Austin, 85, of McGehee, Arkansas passed away July 17, 2021. She was born July 26, 1935 in Plainview, Arkansas to the late Houston and Idell Reed Gallion. Sue enjoyed farming with her husband and going to rodeo’s and horse shows with her daughters. She was a bank teller at McGehee Bank for 11 years. Sue never missed sending birthday wishes to family and friends. She was baptized at Chickasaw Baptist Church and was a member of McGehee First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Bobby Austin; brother-in-law, Eustis Austin. Survivors include her daughters, Valorie Lynn (David) Bliss of McGehee, AR and Vanessa Leigh Pierce of McGehee, AR; sister, Ina (Gerry) Vickers of Dumas, AR; grandchildren, Austin Pierce of McGehee, AR, John Keith Bliss of Bentonville, AR, Robert (Angie) Bliss of Houston, TX; great-grandchildren, Madison Bliss, John Cash Bliss and Sadie Bliss and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Sherry Ferguson, Nita Bargen, Jamie Rollins and Hospice Homecare for the great care they gave Momma Sue.
Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Pierce, John Keith Bliss, Robert Bliss, Matt Miles, Layne Miles, Buddy Wells, Mitch Pambianchi, Stephen Vickers and David Vickers,
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jeremy Woodall and Bro. Ronnie Reed officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chickasaw Baptist Church, P.O. Box 20, McGehee, AR 71654 or Paws and Claws Humane Society, P.O. Box 238, McGehee, AR 71654.
