Louise Reaves Lazarus Spurlock, age 91, of McGehee, Arkansas passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at UAMS. Louise was born October 12, 1929 in Rison, AR to the late John Henry Reaves and Flora Eva Lozar Reaves. Louise worked for 22 years as a cook in the cafeteria at McGehee High School. She also worked for 10 years at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home. Louise enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, traveling and quilting. She loved the Lord, her children and her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of The Assembly of God Church in McGehee, AR.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Nick Lazarus and L.D. Spurlock; her children, Marsha DeFir, Sharon Milholland, Jeffery Lazarus and Eddie Dean Lazarus; grandchildren, Michelle Peacock and Keith Milholland; brothers and sisters, Olen Reaves, J.P. Reaves, Jimmie Bea Sass, Beatrice Howard, Earl Reaves, Ethridge Reaves, Jack Reaves, Lucille Lindsey, Maxine Slaughter and Charles Reaves. Survivors include her children, Eva Peacock of McGehee, AR, Misty DeFir of Harrison, AR, Robin Boyd of Houston, TX, Sandra (Mark) Hancock of Monticello, AR, Jerry (Jannie) Lazarus of Lake Village, AR and Bobbie (Lawayne) Ratcliff of McGehee, AR; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Stringfellow of Heber Springs, AR; brother, Richard Reaves of McGehee, AR and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Buel Curtis and Rev. Terry Morgan. Burial will be at Dermott Cemetery
