Obituary for Kathleen Story Gilbert
Kathleen Story Gilbert, 90, died on February 3, 2022 in Lake Village, AR. Born March 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Artie Story of Bernice, LA. She worked many years at Desha Central School as a teacher’s assistant and McGehee Elementary School until her retirement. She was a member of Collins Baptist Church.
She was a loving wife and mother and loved to cook wonderful meals for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly fifty years, Roy B. Gilbert, two brothers, Charles Story of Bernice, LA and Jack Story of Star City, AR, two sisters, Lillian Gilbert of Ruston, LA and Evelyn Appleberry of Dubach, LA.
She is survived by her children, Gaylen (Debbie) Gilbert and Donna (Lawayne) Baker both of McGehee, AR, Four grandchildren, Brad (Stacy) Baker of McGehee, AR, Garett (Lindsey) Gilbert of Bella Vista, AR, Jennifer (Brian) Wells of Greers Ferry, AR and Cassie Gilbert of Monticello, AR, Three Great Grandchildren, Grant and Emeline Wells of Greers Ferry, AR, and Gunnar Baker of McGehee, AR, and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, and a precious Sister in Law, Helen Story of Bernice, LA.
Visitation will be held at 1:30-2:30pm Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral service will follow at 2:30pm at the funeral home chapel with Rickey Eppes officiating. Burial will be at McGehee Cemetery.
