Obituary for Mildred Ann Johnson Poole

Mildred Ann Johnson Poole, age 95, of Eudora, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 22, 2022.
Mildred was born in Hollis, Oklahoma on October 14, 1926 to Mark Lafayette and Ella Mae Kirkley Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Clarence Eugene Poole, her parents, and her brother Billy Johnson.
She is survived by her children: Thomas (Tommy) Poole and wife Becky of Eudora; Charles (Pete) Poole and wife Joyce of Eudora; and Jerry Poole of Maumelle. She is also survived by her siblings: Peggy Harper of West Monroe, Louisiana and Edward Johnson of Dallas, Texas; Mildred had eight grandchildren: Rachel Poole Robertson (Craig), Rick Poole (Aletha Scott), Mollie Poole Nickelsen(Alan),Clay Poole(Brandi),Sarah Poole Sabbatini(Dino), Gretchen Poole(Craig Iturbe), Jeff Poole (Nicole), and Brent Poole.
Mildred was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren: Mollie and Emma Robertson; Lawton, Charles, and Aletha Poole; Ella Grace and Ava Clayton Poole; Ann Marie and Georgia Sabbatini; Wells and Thomas Nickelsen; Charlotte Poole- Iturbe; and Emma Poole.
Mildred’s life was built around her love for her family, church, and community. She was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church, and loved her Sunday School class, whose members became her cherished friends.
As a war bride, she worked in the canteen at the military base in Millington, Tennessee. Later in life, she retired as cafeteria supervisor at the Ross Van ness School, where she mentored many student workers, and made life-long friends. She was known to be an exceptional cook.
Mildred was active in her local extension club, and loved gardening.
She and Gene enjoyed visiting and hunting at Harwood Hunting Club, where she killed one of the largest deer in the camp.
This precious lady was loved and respected, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at Eudora Baptist Church in Eudora, AR at 11:00 on Friday, February 25, with visitation held from 10:30 to 11:00 prior to the service.
