Obituary for Marty Ross Moncrief

Marty Ross Moncrief, 56, of McGehee, Arkansas passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, Arkansas. Marty was born September 10, 1965 in Dumas, AR to Carolyn Leach Moncrief and the late Denver Moncrief. Most of his life was spent farming. He always loved the outdoors, farming, hunting, fishing, being in the woods and on the sandbar. Marty owned a catering trailer, where he boiled crawfish and shrimp. He also sold crawfish to the public when he wasn’t working. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to anyone. Marty was a very stern father and always pushed his daughters to be the very best. He was a wonderful husband, son, brother and uncle and always put his family first. Marty loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was loved and will be missed by many.
Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Moncrief. Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Moncrief of Star City, AR, and his wife, Jean Moncrief of McGehee, AR; daughters, Bryannia (Clayton) Burke of Monticello, AR, and Misty (Blake) Rogers of Lake Village, AR; brother, Michael (Bernadette) Moncrief of Mansura, LA; grandchildren, Jonathan Rogers, Kimber Joe Rogers, Mark Burke, Jake Burke and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at 10:30am-11:15am Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Watson Baptist Church in Watson, AR with graveside services to follow at 11:30am at Watson Cemetery with Bro. Ben White officiating. Pallbearers are Stephen Finch, Gus Allen Wilson, David McMahan, David Westerman, Clint Palmer, Mike Moncrief and Keith Irons. Honorary pallbearers are Todd Scott and James Brazil. Memorials may be made to St Jude Hospital, P.O. Box 5, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
