Obituary for David Roland Powell, Jr.
David Powell Jr. passed away in the Lake Village Rehabilitation and Care Center, Lake Village, Arkansas, on Friday, July 9th. He was the son of Diane Watt of Crossett, AR, and the late David Powell Sr. of McGehee, AR. He is preceded in death by David Powell Sr. (father); Minnie and Drexel Powell (grandparents) of McGehee, AR; Bonnell Rice (grandmother) of Little Rock, AR; Raymond Rice (grandfather) of Crossett, AR; Dwane Powell (uncle) of North Carolina.
David is survived by one son Dylan Ray, who resides with adoptive grandparents, Karl and Linda Stumpff of Midlothian, TX; Diane Watt (mother) and David Watt (stepfather) of Crossett; Janet Law (sister) and Lucas Law (brother in law) of Conway; Marke White (sister) and Justin White (brother in law) of McGehee; Tessa Ashbook (sister) and Clay (husband) of Monroe, LA; Two aunts, one uncle, six nephews, and three nieces.
David was a member of the First United Methodist Church of McGehee, AR. He had an infectious smile and loved Razorback football, playing guitar, and telling jokes. He worked in business management. In 2011, he suffered a brain injury and spent the last 11 years in rehabilitation. The family is so grateful for the care provided by the Lake Village Rehabilitation Center of Lake Village, AR.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 10:00 A.M., at McGehee Cemetery with Bro. Rick Miller officiating. Donations in David’s memory can be made at www.woundedwarriorproject.org
