Obituary for Martha Ann Hill

Martha Ann Hill, 77, of Hot Springs, Arkansas went to be with Our Lord and Savior. She left this world suddenly on the evening of Sunday, July 10, 2022 after a very courageous 5 year battle with ovarian cancer. She passed away peacefully holding hands with her loving children, Donald and D’Ann at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, AR. We know that Ann was a believer and that she was welcomed with open arms as she passed through those pearly white gates. Ann was born in Dermott, Arkansas on January 13, 1945 to the late Marvin and Martha Welch who were anxiously awaiting her arrival.
Ann attended McGehee High School where she was Homecoming Queen. She was loved by everyone and loved nothing more than keeping in touch with many of her classmates. She met and married Don Hill and they were blessed with two wonderful children. She loved sneaking away to take Donald and D’Ann fishing when they were supposed to be working in the garden. Ann also enjoyed camping and watching wildlife. She was a member of the Church of Christ in McGehee, AR.
She made it her mission to improve the lives of others. Ann put her life on hold to be a wonderful mother and later on caregiver for her mother and father in their later years as they battled with health issues.
As a mother and overall person she was generous, loving and kind hearted. She was always there to listen to others and help them in any way she could…what a Legacy to pass on to her family!
Ann is survived by her two children, Donald R. Hill, Jr (Angi) of Bland, MO and Susan D’Ann Hill Weatherford (Shane) of Hot Springs, AR. Other than her children, Ann is survived by her brothers, Terry Welch (Janice) of Lubbock, TX and Ronnie Peacock (Phyllis) of Franklin, TN. She grew up surrounded by many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles that grew up making endless memories to cherish forever. She was an amazing Nan to her grandchildren, Michael Weatherford (Kolby), Tyler Weatherford, Cody Hill (Lauren) and Zachary Hill and great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Tynsley and Landon Weatherford. There are many others that would consider Ann to be their Nan as she was so loving to so many who made up the entirety of her whole world.
A special thank you to the wonderful nurses, staff, and new friends at Garrett Woods Senior Living Community in Hot Springs, AR. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Muldoon, Tiffany McConathy, and staff at Genesis Cancer Center, Dr. Randy Hill and staff, Arkansas Hospice at CHI St. Vincent, and Hot Springs Radiology Services of Hot Springs for taking such good care of her.
We are incredibly thankful for Bill Massey and for the love he showered Ann with up until the end. God placed Bill in her life when she needed it most. Their companionship gave her something to look forward too.
