On September 11, 2022 the angels came to take John Ross Pennington, 75 years young, home to his parents, James “Bill” Pennington and Pearl West. His brothers, David Pennington and J.R. Pennington were also there to meet him, along with his step-father Arthur West. John Ross Pennington passed away at his home with his wife by his side. John was a farmer and welder. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on small engines. The thing that he loved the most was is family. He would take his boys, nephews, daughters and nieces camping (the girls wanted to do everything the boys did). He loved teaching them how to fish with jugs, trot lines and nets. He also taught them how to drive tractors. He wanted to teach them everything he knew, so they would grow up to be respectful and hard working adults. He was very proud of all them and loved them very much.
He leaves behind his wife, Ann Pennington of Eudora, AR; sons, David Pennington and his wife, Sherry of Eudora, AR and Joe Pennington and his wife, Sheryl of Warner Robbins, GA; daughter, April Pennington and her fiancé, Jimmy Pace of Warner Robbins, GA; sister, Frances Blansett of Pontotoc, MS and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A very special “Thank You” to Diann and others that helped take care of him.
Visitation will be held at 12:30pm–2:00pm Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery Pavilion. Services will follow at 2:00pm at the pavilion.
