Obituary for Rebecca Geraldine Parker
Rebecca Geraldine Parker, age 93, of Dermott, Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022, in Conway, Arkansas.
Geraldine was born May 7, 1929 in Dermott, AR. She was a lifetime member of Dermott Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ovid Edward Owens and Rebecca Sasser Owens; her husband, James Morris Parker; and a daughter, Elaine Tipton.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Lilley (William) of Greenbrier, Arkansas; her brother Ovid “Buddy” Owens (Reesa) of Dermott; 5 grandchildren, Jaci Barden (Kwan) of Morrilton, AR, Reggie Hidalgo (Kevin) of Edgemont, AR, Jonathan Engelkes (Julie) of Greenbrier, AR, Park Tipton (Maegan) of Monticello, AR and Rebecca Greenwood (Jonathan) of Monticello, AR; as well as 15 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Geraldine graduated from Dermott High School. She worked for Southwestern Bell, St Mary’s Hospital and retired from First Service Bank.
Geraldine was a godly role model. She was kind, loving, strong, and resilient, and those were virtues she portrayed every day. She enjoyed watching sporting events (especially when family was participating), working jigsaw puzzles and playing Skip-Bo or Solitaire to pass the time. She lived life with joy and loved to be surrounded by friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, from 10:00-11:00 am at Dermott Baptist Church. Funeral service to follow at 11:00 am at Dermott Baptist Church. Burial will be at Dermott Cemetery in Dermott, AR. Memorials may be made to Dermott Baptist Church P.O. Box 334, Dermott, AR 71638.
