Billie Jean Burns, 62, of Portland, AR passed away Monday, January 16, 2023. Billie was born on August 23, 1960 to the late Cecil King and Edna Faye Irons King. Billie loved fishing, enjoyed arts and singing with Patsy Cline. She was a children’s advocate and caregiver for many children. Billie loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Joetta Sims and Patricia King and her nephew, Wesley Teague. Survivors include her husband, James Burns; son, Colton Wilson and wife, Haley of Monticello, AR; daughters, Erika Henderson and husband, Eric of Bryant, AR and Regina Powell and husband, Mark of McGehee, AR; sister, Kay Drake of Jonesboro, AR; grandchildren, Decklin Bell, Kyler Bell, Kensley Henderson, Karleigh Henderson, Olivia Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Markus Powell and nephew, Bryan Teague.
Visitation will be held at 10:00-11:00am Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. A celebration of life service will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jason Martin and Regina Powell officiating.
