Obituary for Sybil Ruth Welch
Sybil Ruth Welch, 81, of Eudora, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village, AR while surrounded by family. Sybil was born in Oak Grove, LA on December 16, 1941 to her parents the late Jessie Lee “Bilbo” Aaron and Alene Aaron.
For 30 years she worked at Ross Van Ness School and Eudora public School as a cook. She loved all the kids she got to know and serve her delicious food to. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and cooking for her family.
For fifty years she enjoyed serving the Lord and fellowship with her church family at New Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie “Bilbo” and Alene Aaron, her brothers, Billy Aaron and Edgar Aaron.
Survivors include her loving husband of 32 years Billy Welch; her sons, Paul Hale (Ramona), Kenny Hale (Martha), Dean Hale (Sandra) and Richard Hale (Christine); stepdaughters, Teresa Hanberry (Ronald), Crystal Michelle Welch and Virginia Lee Welch; stepson Billy Joe Welch; brothers, Joe Aaron, Jessie Aaron (Sharon) and Danny Aaron; sister, Barbara Antley; 9 grandchildren, Matthew Hale, Carly Branch, Stacy Mathews, Alisha Hale, Storm Hale, Briana Hale, Blake Hale, Amy Atkins and Greg Harper; 9 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; her friends Mary Lou Knight, Linda Welch and many others.
Visitation will be from 11am-12noon Saturday, February 11, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church in Eudora, AR. Funeral Service will follow at 12noon at the church with Rev. Anthony Holiman officiating. Burial will follow at Mt Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 1609 Hwy 8 West, Eudora, AR 71640.
