Obituary for Michael "Mike" Olen Doss

Michael Olen Doss (Mike), of Largo, Florida passed away from cardiac arrest Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Largo Medical Center.
Mike was born August 8, 1967, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Barbara Anne Courtney Doss and the late Jessie Olen Doss, Sr. He grew up in McGehee, Arkansas. He is survived by his loving daughter Anna Courtney Doss Mencer (Cody); his devoted mother Barbara Doss; his brothers Jessie Doss, Jr. (Susan) & Donnie Doss (Dianne); his sister Faye Holder (Jeff); and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and extended family, and friends.
Founded in 1975 by his father, Doss Heating & Air Conditioning was where Mike continued his family’s legacy by working many years in sales and customer service. He later served as director of HVAC at North American Maintenance in Clearwater, Florida.
Mike had a magnetic personality, a quick wit, a unique humor, and a charismatic smile that filled any room he was in.
Mike was a 1985 graduate of McGehee High School. He loved sports. One of his greatest achievements was helping lead his beloved McGehee Owls football team to the 1984 Arkansas 8 AA State Championship. In addition, he loved the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was a loyal fan and attended many games.
Mike’s signature passion was music. What began with his first guitar at age seven (7), led to a lifetime of fine-tuning his craft. It brought him immense fulfillment and joy.
Above all, Mike loved Jesus Christ, and his entire family. May he rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 11 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church of McGehee, Arkansas. A service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM/Noon. Honorary pallbearers will be the 1984 McGehee Owls State 8 AA Football Champions.
