James Franklin Bost, Jr., 81, of Lake Village, Arkansas passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Mississippi. Frank was born September 30, 1941 in Cleveland, MS to the late James Franklin Bost, Sr. and Gladys Evelyn Moore Bost. Frank was a graduate of Delta State University and he served in the United States Navy. He formerly worked for US Steel Inc. and he operated the Handy Corner convenient store in Lake Village, AR for several years. Frank was a history buff and he loved Civil War history. He was a big prankster and enjoyed telling jokes. Frank also loved studying his bible and was a member of Jennie Baptist Church. He was formerly a member of Glorybound Sunday School class at Cedarview Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Janeth Bost; step-daughter, Rhonda Barbee; brother, William Paul “Billy” Bost; step-son, Kenneth Armstrong. Survivors include his son, Gary (Myra) Layne Bost of Battle Creek, MI; daughter, Kristin (Dirk) Gann of Knoxville, TN; step-daughters, Janeffer (Tracy) Graham and Lori Armstrong; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are the Men’s Sunday School Class at Jennie Baptist Church and the Glory Bound Sunday School Class at Olive Branch, MS.
Visitation will be held at 10:00am-11:00am Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Jennie Baptist Church in Lake Village, AR. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the church with Rev. Brian Wetzler and Rev. Matt Moore officiating.
