Terms and Conditions

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS WEBSITE (AS DEFINED HEREIN). By using this Website, you signify your acknowledgment and agreement to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, DO NOT use this Website (as defined herein).

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Book Of Memories websites (the "Website") and other services (collectively the "Services"). FrontRunner Professional ("Company," "we," "us," "our") reserves the right in our sole discretion to change, amend or modify (the "changes") all or part of these Terms and Conditions at any time and from time to time for any reason. Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will be noted by indicating the date these Terms and Conditions were last made. Any changes will become effective no earlier than fourteen (14) days after they are posted; provided, however, that changes addressing new functions of the Services or changes made for legal reasons will be effective immediately. Your use or continued use of the Services after the date any such changes become effective shall constitute your express acceptance of the Terms and Conditions as changed, amended or modified.

Eligibility: Users under 18 years of age are not eligible to use the Services without consent. Users between the ages of 13 and 17, can use the Services with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years of age; provided, however, that such parent or legal guardian agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, and agrees to be responsible for such use of the Services. Company reserves the right to refuse use of the Services to anyone and to reject, cancel, interrupt, remove or suspend any Campaign, Donation, or the Services at any time for any reason without liability.

Definitions: In these Terms and Conditions "Campaign Organizers" means those raising funds, and "Campaigns" as their fundraising campaigns. Additionally, "Donors" means those contributing funds, and "Donations" as the funds they contribute. Campaign Organizers, Donors and other visitors to the Services are referred to collectively as "Users". The term "Campaign Organizers" shall also be deemed to include any individual(s) designated as a beneficiary of Campaigns.

Services: The Services are offered as a platform (the "Platform") to Users of the Services. Among other features, the Services are designed to allow Campaign Organizers to post Campaigns to the Platform to accept Donations from Donors. Although there are no fees to set up Campaigns, a portion of each Donation will be charged as fees for our Services and those of our third party payment processors. Company reserves the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Services with or without notice. You agree that Company will not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance thereof. The Company has no responsibility or liability for the deletion or failure to store any data or other content maintained or uploaded by the Services. To the extent you access the Services through a mobile device, your wireless service carrier's standard charges, data rates and other fees may apply. In addition, downloading, installing, or using certain Services may be prohibited or restricted by your carrier, and not all Services may work with all carriers or devices. By using the Services, you agree that we may communicate with you regarding Company and other entities by SMS, MMS, text message or other electronic means to your mobile device and that certain information about use of the Services may be communicated to us.

Charitable Giving: Campaigns are not charities to which you can make tax-deductible charitable contributions. Any Donation you make through the Platform may be processed by an unaffiliated business partner for which a processing fee (in addition to our FrontRunner Professional Fee) is deducted. You understand, acknowledge and agree that Company is not a charity, and Company does not solicit charitable donations for itself or for any third-party charitable institution. Company is merely acting as a payment facilitator for any Donations.

Administrative Platform Only: The Services are an administrative platform only. The Company is merely acting as a payment facilitator for any Donations between Campaign Organizers and Donors, and is not a party to any agreement between Campaign Organizers and Donors. Company is not a broker, agent, financial institution, creditor or insurer for any user. Company has no control over the conduct of, or any information provided by Campaign Organizers, and Company hereby disclaims all liability in this regard. We expressly disclaim any liability or responsibility for the success or outcome of any Campaign. Donors must in their sole discretion make the final determination of making Donations to any Campaigns. Donors are solely responsible for asking questions and investigating Campaign Organizers and Campaigns to the extent they feel is necessary before making a Contribution. All Donations are made voluntarily and at the sole discretion and risk of Donors. Company does not guarantee that Donations will be used as promised. Company does not endorse, guarantee, make representations, or provide warranties for or about the quality, safety, or legality of any Campaign. Donors are solely responsible for determining how to treat their Donations for tax purposes.

No Verification of Campaign Information: We do not verify the information that Campaign Organizers supply, and do not guarantee that the Donations will be used in accordance with any fundraising purpose prescribed by Campaign Organizers. We disclaim and assume no responsibility to verify whether the Donations are used in accordance with any applicable laws.

Your Registration Obligations: You may be required to register with Company in order to access and use certain features of the Services. If you choose to register for the Services, you agree to provide and maintain true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself as prompted by the Services' registration form. Campaign Organizers must register using their true identities, including their name and any image purporting to depict the Campaign Organizer. Registration data and certain other information about you are governed by our Privacy Policy. If you are under 13 years of age, you are not authorized to use the Services, with or without registering. In addition, if you are under 18 years old, you may use the Services, with or without registering, only with the approval of your parent or guardian. Certain aspects of our Services may also require you to register with (and agree to the terms of) third party service providers (e.g., payment processors or charitable donation processors) in order to utilize such Services. While we may help facilitate such registration in some cases, we are not a party to any such relationships and disclaim any responsibility or liability for the performance by such third parties. We may exchange information with such third party services in order to facilitate the provision of Services (and related third party services).

Public Display of Donations: Donors have the option to publicly display their Donations for public viewing or allow their information to be provided to the Campaign beneficiary(ies). To keep the details of your Donation private, simply click the appropriate checkbox during the Donation process. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information on the ways that we may collect, use, and store certain information about you and your use of the Services.

Payment of Donations: In order to contribute to a Campaign, Donors will be required to provide Company information regarding its credit card (i.e., VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express) or other payment method. Donors represent and warrant to Company that such information is true and that Donors are authorized to use the credit card or payment method. Donors agree that a certain minimum Donation amount may apply, and that all Donation payments are final and cannot be refunded. Donors agree to promptly update account information with any changes that may occur and to pay the Donation amount that you specify. Donors hereby authorize Company to bill Donors' credit cards and payment methods in advance on a periodic basis until Donors terminate periodic payments through the Platform.

Fees: Company does not charge Campaign Organizers any upfront fees for Campaigns. Company retains a portion of each Donation contributed to Campaigns in the amount of four percent (4%) ("FrontRunner Professional Fee"). A portion of the Donation is payable to our third party payment processors ("Processing Fee"). Donors acknowledge that by contributing Donations to Campaigns, Donors are agreeing to any and all applicable terms and conditions set forth by a third party payment processor, in addition to these Terms and Conditions. The portion of each Donation payable to and retained by our third party payment processors are:

        • US Users ONLY: Third party payment processor charges a fee of 2.9% AND $0.30 per donation for VISA, MasterCard or Discover cards or 3.4% AND $0.30 per donation for American Express cards.

        • CA Users ONLY: Third party payment processor charges a fee of 2.9% AND $0.30 per donation for VISA, MasterCard or Discover cards or 3.4% AND $0.30 per donation for American Express cards.

All Tribute Pay Fees and Processing Fees ("Fees") are deducted directly from each Donation and are not reflected in the amount which Campaign Organizers can withdraw from the Campaign. We reserve the right to change any of the Fees from time to time. If we change any of the Fees, we will provide notice of the change on the Website or otherwise, at our option, at least fourteen (14) days before the change is to take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the change in any of the Fees becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the new Fees.

Indemnification: You agree to release, indemnify and hold Company and its affiliates and their owners, officers, employees, directors and agents harmless from any from any and all losses, damages, expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, rights, claims, causes of action, actions of any kind and injury (including death) arising out of or relating to your use of the Services, any Donation or Campaign, your violation of these Terms and Conditions or your violation of any rights of another. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: "A GENERAL RELEASE DOES NOT EXTEND TO CLAIMS WHICH THE CREDITOR DOES NOT KNOW OR SUSPECT TO EXIST IN HIS FAVOR AT THE TIME OF EXECUTING THE RELEASE, WHICH IF KNOWN BY HIM MUST HAVE MATERIALLY AFFECTED HIS SETTLEMENT WITH THE DEBTOR". To the extent you are a resident of another jurisdiction, you waive any comparable statute or doctrine

Regardless of the manner in which the arbitration is conducted, the arbitrator shall issue a reasoned written decision sufficient to explain the essential findings and conclusions on which the award is based. YOU AND COMPANY AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. Unless both you and Company agree otherwise in writing, the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims, and may not otherwise preside over any form of a representative or class proceeding. If this specific provision is found to be unenforceable, then the entirety of this arbitration provision shall be null and void.

  1. Definitions

“Personal Information” includes both “Personally Identifiable Information” and “Non-Personally Identifiable Information”.

"Personally Identifiable Information" refers to information that lets us know the specifics of who you are and can be used to identify, contact or locate you. Personally Identifiable Information is requested when you register with us, make a Donation, correspond with us, or otherwise volunteer information, for instance, through the use of "Contact Us". Personally Identifiable Information may include, without limitation, your name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card number, and other identification and contact information.

"Non-Personally Identifiable Information" refers to information that does not identify a specific individual by itself or in combination with other information. We gather certain information about you based upon what you view on our Site in several ways. This information is compiled and analyzed on both a personal and an aggregated basis. This information may include the Site’s Uniform Resource Locator ("URL") that you just came from, which URL you next go to, what browser you are using, and your Internet Protocol ("IP") address. A URL is the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web (‘Web”). An IP address is an identifier for a computer or device on a Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol ("TCP/IP") network, such as the World Wide Web. Networks use the TCP/IP protocol to route information based on the IP address of the destination. In other words, an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web, allowing Web servers to locate and identify your computer. Computers require IP addresses in order for users to communicate on the Internet, browse and shop

“Sensitive Personal Information” means Personal Information that reveals race, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership or that concerns an individual’s health.

  2. Notice

Company shall inform you of the purposes for which it collects and uses Personal Information and the types of non-agent third parties to which Company discloses or may disclose that information. Company shall provide you with the choice and means for limiting the use and disclosure of your Personal Information. Notice will be provided in clear and conspicuous language when you are first asked to provide Personal Information to Company, or as soon as practicable thereafter. In any event, you will receive notice before Company uses or discloses the information for a purpose other than that for which it was originally collected.

  3. Choice

Company will offer you the opportunity to choose (opt-out) whether Personal Information is to be disclosed to a third party or to be used for a purpose other than that for which it was originally collected or has subsequently been authorized. For Sensitive Personal Information (when applicable), Company will give you the opportunity to affirmatively or explicitly consent (opt-in) to the disclosure of the information for a purpose other than that for which it was originally collected or has subsequently been authorized. Company will treat Sensitive Personal Information it receives from anyone the same as it would treat its own Sensitive Personal Information.

  4. Security

Company shall take reasonable steps to protect Personal Information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No company is immune from Internet attacks or data breaches. Company cannot guarantee the security of information on or transmitted via the Internet.

  5. Data Integrity

Company shall only process Personal Information in a way that is compatible with and relevant to the purpose for which it was collected or has been authorized. To the extent necessary for those purposes, Company shall take reasonable steps to ensure that Personal Information is accurate, complete, current, and reliable for its intended use.

7. How Company Shares Your Information

Company shares your Personal Information with third parties when it believes you have permitted such sharing, that it is reasonably necessary to offer services, or when legally required to do so. Company will not share your Personally Identifiable Information with third parties in a way that it thinks violates your privacy. The following non-exhaustive list contains examples of how Company shares or could share your information:

  1. If Site allows you to invite a friend to join the Site or become a User, and you choose to do so, the invitation will contain information that will allow your friend to identify you. The invitation may contain information about other Users your friend might know.

  2. Certain information you provide to Company may be shared by using the Site’s search function. This allows other Users to locate your profile and it allows new Users to find people they know on the Site.

  3. Company provides some public information to search engines. This information allows search engines to locate the Site. It also allows people to locate you on the Site using a major search engine. This does not mean all information you post on the Site may be accessed using a search engine.

  4. There are also times when Company may make certain Personal Information about you available to strategic partners or third parties. These companies may help Company process information, render services to you, manage and enhance customer data, provide customer service, assess your interest in products and services, or conduct research or satisfaction surveys. Without such information being made available, it would be difficult for you to use Company's Site and services.

  5. Company may also share Personal Information when it has a good faith belief it is necessary to prevent fraud or other illegal activity, to prevent imminent bodily harm, or to protect itself and you from people violating the Terms and Conditions of the Site. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, and courts or other government entities.

  6. Company may disclose information pursuant to subpoenas, court orders, or other requests (including criminal and civil matters) if it has a good faith belief that the law requires such a response. This may include requests from jurisdictions outside of the United States if Company has a good faith belief that the response is required by law under the local laws in that jurisdiction, is applicable to users from that jurisdiction, and is consistent with generally accepted international standards.

  7. Company may disclose analyzed data in the form of purchasing trends or statistical data. No Personally Identifiable Information will be attached to this disclosure.

8. Business or Asset Transfer or Sale

Company may be sold, sell or buy businesses or assets of businesses, or merge with another business. In such transactions, Personal Information generally is one of the transferred business assets. Also, in the event that Company, a line of business of Company, or substantially all the assets of Company are transferred, Personal Information may well be one of the transferred assets. Company will make a reasonable effort to provide notice on the Site, and to notify you via e-mail to the most recent e-mail address that you have provided of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

9. Miscellaneous

Obituary

Please share your favorite memory of Holly Anne Felts to be included in a special keepsake book for the family.
Holly Anne Felts Brown, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved member of the Eudora, Arkansas community, passed away on June 4th, 2023, at 7:51 AM. She was born on December 12, 1954, in Houston, Texas, and was the only child of Alma Cornelia Hensley Felts and Holly Hicks Felts. Holly was a shining light in the lives of those who knew her and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of calling her a friend, family, and most of all a loving Wife, Mama, and Nonie.

Holly Anne Felts Brown was preceded in death by her father Holly Hicks Felts, mother Alma Cornelia Hensley Felts, mother-in-law Betty Jo Lilly, brother-in-law Charles Michael Brown “Mike”, sister-in-law Connie Brown, and nephew Joseph Brown.

Holly shared a beautiful journey of love and companionship with her husband, Milton Lindsey Brown, whom she married 51 years ago. Their bond was an inspiration to many, and together they built a strong and enduring foundation of love, support, and unwavering commitment.

Holly was blessed with two wonderful sons, Michael Lindsey Brown, and Jeffrey Hicks Brown, who were a constant source of pride and joy in her life. She treasured her role as a mother and dedicated herself wholeheartedly to nurturing and guiding her children. Michael and Jeffrey, along with their wives Tara Brown and Krista Brown respectively, brought tremendous happiness and fulfillment to Holly's life.

Holly also had the privilege of being a grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren, Brady Hicks Brown, Cameron Joseph Brown, Davis Lindsey Brown, and Tyler Michael Brown. Being called “Nonie” was the highlight of any day. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Holly's grandchildren were the light of her life, and her legacy of love and devotion will forever be engraved in their hearts.

Throughout her life, Holly worked at the Eudora Library for many years, where she shared her passion serving her community with warmth and dedication. She also worked for Cora Bridges Accounting leaving a lasting impact on those she encountered through her professionalism and kindness.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Holly found her true calling as a mother, wife, and homemaker. She poured her heart and soul into creating a nurturing and loving home environment for her family. Holly's love and care radiated through every aspect of her life, and her selflessness was evident in the way she tirelessly cared for her loved ones. She loved babysitting and she held a special place in her heart for all the kids she kept over the years.

Holly's boundless love and infectious personality were also felt beyond the confines of her home. Her daily Facebook updates, eagerly anticipated by friends and family alike, brought smiles and joy to countless lives. Her signature greeting, "Good morning fb friends and family. Rise and shine my little porcupines," became a cherished reminder of her warm presence and brought a sense of connection to all those who followed her updates.

Holly touched the lives of many in Eudora, Arkansas, and the surrounding communities. Her unwavering love for her children and grandchildren, her dedication to her husband, and her commitment to creating a nurturing home will forever be remembered. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind and the profound impact she made on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Holly, you will be dearly missed, but your memory will forever live on in our hearts. Rest in peace, Nonie. We will always Love you.

Family and Friends
Holly Ann is such a good loving, sweet person. I love y’all. As far as memories or stories, I know she’s a bundle of love. She was married with a baby by the time I started running around, so we never hung out much together other than at grandmas house or aunt Alma’s house. She was always so funny, cracking jokes and telling us things to keep us entertained. Now, if Marilyn was here, I’m sure she had some stories to tell. I love you guys. Spend as much time with her as you possibly can cause there’s no one like your momma. — Susan Hensley-Evans

So many memories from there are mashed into one overall feeling, love. The 4th of July family gatherings are some of the best times of my childhood. One memory that does stand out is of Holly, and the rest of the teenage cousins, trying their best to keep me and Will out of their business. Will and I learned how to pick the locks at Aunt Diane’s house so we could bust in on them when they were hiding in the bathroom. Poor Rusty, the pony, was put through his paces when we tried to follow the cool cousins on horseback. Holly was always so sweet about it.
All my love,
John Jr.

Holly,
I don’t have any stories, but I do have this photo of Holly and me that I have always cherished and always will. It was taken either in late 1963 or very early 1964. This news breaks my heart. I send many prayers to Holly, Lindy, and all of you. She called me this morning to give me the news. I will call her and check in with her. - Tammy Felts Berkey

To know Holly is to love her. Icon of Eudora for sure. So many people have had the privilege to be her friend, but I’ve had the privilege to be a friend and a cousin. It just doesn’t get any better than having older cousins. Out riding around town, like so many of us used to do, get bored, go by Holly’s house, no invite, no call ahead, cause back then we had no cell phones, drop by unexpectedly, but no matter when, what day, what time of the day, or night, it was always, come on in and sit down! Always the best visits from then until even now. I guarantee she would then and will now make you laugh your butt off about something! Always good times around Holly Ann, as I always called her. And don’t ever get her, Marilyn Dalton, Marilyn Hensley, and Theresa Temple in one room as a kid ‘cause they were all something else. I just sat back at Aunt Beatrice’s or Aunt Alma’s house and laughed at them; they were so crazy funny!! Good ole days, for sure!! — Susan Evans

When I think of Holly, I think of Lindy. What a sweet couple! There is never a doubt about the love they share. Years ago, several of us formed a singing group called the “Singing Valentines.” The purpose was to raise money for our little school in town. Well, Lindy bought a Valentine for Holly. So the group went to her house on Valentine’s day to sing “Let Me Call You Sweetheart.” Holly opened her door and was surprised to see about seven people at her door. We told her that Lindy had bought this Valentine’s for her. So then we began to sing. What a joy it became as we sang to her. She smiled that sweet “Holly smile” while looking at each singer. Everything was going well. As we sang, Holly’s face began to turn up kind of, and the tears started to drop. And, of course, I joined her. At the end of the song, Holly and I hugged big time. Both of us were crying. To me, I know she got a blessing, and guess what? I did too. I Love Holly Ann Felts Brown, and I love her sweet Lindy, too. — Sally Tisdale

Well, my story is an old one but a good one! My mom, Janet, and Holly were very close. The day my mom and dad got married, Holly was mad at my Mama; because Holly said she loved Sonny and she was supposed to marry Sonny. My Mama always laughed about that. Holly and Mama talked every day if not on the phone; it was on Facebook. It was so much love between those two, and I have so much love for Holly Ann too. She’s a special - special person! Love you bunches. — Carolyn Newell Gillespie

Mrs. Holly used to babysit me when I was little. I have lots of fond memories of her. I’m fairly certain she taught me how to tie my shoes! I remember knotting my shoes up to keep them on, and I’m pretty sure she was tired of getting the knots out of my shoes! I remember playing games, rolling in a tractor tire down the backyard, and much more. When it came to eating, Mrs. Holly is one of the best cooks around. Being a picky eater and very seldomly trying new things, I got a wild hair to try apple sauce one day. I remember Mrs. Holly saying I have to finish it if I try it. That was the first and last time I ever ate apple sauce! I’m sure I can think of more stories to tell and I’ll try to post them when I do!
— Craig Overton

I don’t have stories. I used to babysit Michael and Jeffery. I know Holly Anne and have, over the years, come to realize that she has a heart bigger than Texas, loves everyone who deserves it and if you are someone she loves, will do almost anything for you. I pray for you all every day.

Stories from friends in Eudora, AR.

When I worked at the insurance office in Eudora, Holly would pull up to the front and those 2 boys would hit that front glass door running in to see Ms Alma!!! It was the highlight of Ms Alma’s day to see them and Holly sitting in the car smiling. So much excitement and love!!
— Cindy Hogue

So Many Great memories & can’t tell some stories!! Holly & I have been Friends for over 50 years. We started being friends when Gary & I were dating. We lived right across street from your Mom & Dad for a few years. We use to have the best (FUN) cookouts & parties OH MY GOSH she fixed a Really Good Punch. Good Friends-Good Times!
I’m Blessed to have your Mom for a Close & Very Dear Friend!
— Charlene Armstrong (Shorty)

Holly was a year behind me in class. But we saw each other often growing up. We were in high school band together, if I remember correctly. Don’t ask me what she played. She lived next door to a classmate and friend, Sandy Cain, so I would see her when at Sandy’s house. Holly wore those short skirts with those skinny legs and long straight hair. She was a doll and still is. I know she loved that Lindy since she was what 7 years old? I moved from Eudora when I was 16 but reconnected with Holly on Facebook of course. I do keep up with my classmates on Facebook and saw many of them at a reunion several years ago. Holly and I were seated next to each other and enjoyed watching all those fools dance the night away. We have also been in touch as we both have a 15-year-old grandson, both named Tyler. They went to daycare together when they were just little tikes. When they started playing T-ball we would see Holly and Lindy at the games. We also watch Neville football together from time to time where her Davis played, and Tyler plays now. Christmas of 2021, we spent the day with all the Browns in Eudora. See, Cody and I are now very close friends of Michael L Brown and Tara Sale Brown. Love me some Jeffrey Brown and Krista Ragland Brown too. Michael, you have to remember we are getting old and our memories fade. But your mom has always been a sweetheart and has been loved by all. I love you, Holly Anne! - Linda Keller Nordan Sanders

I use to take walks around the neighborhood when I was young living on Cherry Street. And I would often stop in on Holly and she didn’t care I hadn’t called first...she was always warm and inviting and we would sit at the dining table and share funny stories about what Lindy and David had done or said and we never missed an opportunity to brag on our boys. This was our little world. She told me one story about Jeffrey not wanting to go to bed at night...he said his head hurt, his toes hurt, his tummy hurt, his fingers hurt, and last but certainly not least, his hair hurt...and I nearly fell out of my chair listening to her and she nearly couldn’t compose herself telling the story. Holly loves her family!! - Carla Overton

I have so many, literally my entire childhood from the time I was born until my momma moved us to Kilbourne when I was 11 years old. So many days of riding my bicycle across town to y’all’s house or across the street from Mrs. Melba Harrell’s house to hang out with Jeffrey and aggravate the shit out of Michael. Can’t tell you how many times I heard Mrs. Holly say “Jeffery! Lil Max! Get your asses in the yard!” We would run over to Mrs. Alma’s house or go to Momma Jo’s shop to raid the coke machine, lol! So many little league baseball games, Cub Scout and Boy Scout meetings. Camping trips, rides to and from school. Just to many to pick one. Back then, Eudora was an amazing place to be. Everyone knew everybody. Which is good, and bad. If we did anything wrong it would beat us home. We rode our bikes everywhere, downtown had thriving businesses in every spot on Main St. Only thing we had to worry about was getting home before the street lights came on. We didn’t realize it at the time, but we will never have it that “good” ever again and it was all because of people like Mrs. Holly, Mr. Lindy, Momma Jo and Mr. WB.
Love y’all! Max Roy Jr.

When we moved to Eudora in 1965, we moved across the street from the sweetest and most Loving family. Mrs. Alma, Hicky, and a beautiful Lil blonde-headed girl named Holly. We had a big lot on the side of our house and Paul Keller( Blue Keller ) and I used to play football, baseball, and anything every day. Holly would come over and watch us and be our Lil cheerleader. Hicky and I became great friends and he, Barnes, and Simpson let me into their club. I was over at their house more than mine. Love that Lil girl today. A very Special Family. — Monty Harris

Holly and Family,
I know I can’t say too much about Holly when she was younger, but I can say this... She is the most precious person, Mother, and Nonie. Holly, I have become very close to you and love you like you are a daughter of mine. Love you, Holly. — Lesia Simpson Fournier

1958—September—Yep, 1st grade at Eudora Elementary. Even though we were only 3 houses apart, my and Lindy’s first real encounter was on the playground. My Mama loved to tell this story. One day Ms Betty Jo contacted Mama and said that Lindy had been trying to tell her about a girl that he wanted to invite to his BD party (but he didn’t know my name). He kept saying “Her like me”. Ms Jo asked Lindy, “How do you know she likes you?” Lindy said, “Cause her pushed me down!”. Somehow and someway, Ms. Jo finally figured out that he was talking about me. We’ve been a Bro and Sis to each other ever since.

Growing up on good ole Mabry Street!!! Talk about everlasting bonds— the Serios, the Browns, the Williams, and the Cashions. Daylight to dark, we played together. So very many games of Kick the Can, Save the Country, gathering lightening bugs, and even Firecracker wars. Kept playing until our moms stepped and started calling us to come home. Good times!
Then before we knew it—Mighty Badger Seniors!! Sooooo many stories. If I tried to tell them all, it would be a book in itself.

Therefore, I’ll just share a few. David Overton, my Bro and myself—the 3 Musketeers (more like Moe, Larry and Curley). Always doing shit we didn’t need to be doing. All 3 of us especially admired Mr. Nunnelee, our band director. Our Spring concert was about to happen and we thought we would prank Mr. Nunnelee. Now when he was directing, he really got into it. We somehow got him out of his office that afternoon before the concert so we could follow through with our plan. David or Lindy (definitely not me) acquired a Playboy monthly centerfold. We placed it right in the middle of one of his musical scores that was being performed that night. We were the only 3 that knew it was about to happen and the nerves were kind of setting in. What we DIDN’T expect was Mr. Nunnelee to stop the band. He was laughing so hard and turned around to the audience to SHOW them why; well he did conceal some parts. He then proceeded to give credit to Lindy, Phyllis and David!! Uh-oh—making our Mamas proud.
Way too many nights we would find the electric eye on a light pole. When you shine a spot light on it, it would shut off all the lights on Main street. The city would move it somewhere else but we always found it. Escaping immediately afterwards was dangerous at times. LOL
Graduation night, we 3 headed to Monroe in Booger’s blue Road Runner. Lindy driving, David riding shotgun and me in the back seat with the ice chest—uh, full of—cokes, yeah cokes! Lindy was coming upon a vehicle and he just decided to pass it. A little late, we realized it was one of Louisiana’s finest. He must have been tired cause he didn’t stop us! Pheww. Breakfast the morning after graduation was at my house. Needless to say, we were the last 3 there. Sorry again to our Mamas. I could go on and on but I’ll stop here. I had already started college when Lindy and Sweet Holly got to dating. I don’t have any fun tales on Holly. She was always with her buddies Marilyn Dalton or Marilyn Hoff (God Rest Their Souls), but I’m sure if they were here they could really spill the beans on their adventures. But let me end by saying how much I love Holly and my Bro and truly admire the love that they still share!!! I love you guys!! Phyllis (Sis)

Stories from Mom’s High School friends.

Holly was one of my first piano students (I started teaching in 7th grade)! I’m not sure if people realize what a fantastic piano student she was! Holly was extremely talented and cute as a button. I need to find some of the OLD photos if I can of my students in their costumes (yes, we gave some humdinger performances in costumes) to make them all red-faced! I came upon Holly dancing outside (think “American Bandstand”) on the front steps one time, and she was so embarrassed that I’m not sure she ever got over it! Even way back then, there was always a smile on that beautiful face. Over the years, I think we all have come to look forward to feeling all her positive vibes and hearing the uplifting things she has to say. Always full of love and encouragement and ready to pray for those in need, we have come to rely on all this to keep touch with our world we knew as Eudora. Holly and Lindy both have offered us all in insight into truly sacrificial love with both their wonderful boys, and it is delightful to see their inspirational love still so alive after all this time. Holly has one flaw: Fluella! (she will know).
Camille Carothers Glazebrook

I heard from Phyllis that you were seeking stories regarding your parents’ courtship. I was in your dad’s class so I was off at college during their dating and subsequent marriage. I lived half a block north of Lindy on Mabry, so I have many memories of him as a young boy; playing baseball on the lot behind the Horton’s class, camping out at numerous locations around Eudora, playing marbles for keeps, and going over to Mrs. Hicks’ house to harass her. I tease Lindy that Mrs. Harper, our second grade teacher, had to had rotator cuff surgery from paddling him so much. Lindy was such a fun-loving, daring and impish boy, while I was more reserved and guarded. He readily sang in talent shows at six years old and he got his hair dyed bright red by your grandma. While in high school, Lindy and I, being small in stature, could wear the cheerleader uniforms, so we were enlisted to cheer at a girls’ basketball game. There’s a notorious photo of that that Holly periodically posts on Facebook. You can see that Lindy is hamming it up while I am hesitantly participating. Although I was not around for your parents’ dating and wedding story, I know it well. It is both funny and romantic. I love to hear them tell it. I got Lindy to tell it to a group of us at the reunion this past year. He does a great job telling it, but honestly it is better when they tell it together. I think they make each other better all the time. Over the years, Lindy had a very successful career while Holly was the glue for raising a wonderful family. I admire them for what they have built together. Honestly, I have only recently come to know Holly better through Facebook. That’s where I see that same glue she is with your family. She keeps all of us EHS alum connected. I don’t know if that was a conscious decision or it just is the way she is, but I am so grateful she takes on that role. I wish I did know Holly better in school, but I am not a cradle robber like your dad. Sorry that this is not really what you requested, but I wanted to participate to show my love and respect for your folks. Your whole family is in my prayers daily. — Bogan Morgan

I think it was 1972. I parked my car behind the dairy bar. I went riding with Teresa Temple and Allen Jones. Holly, Lindy, Marilyn, and Thomas had been camping and killed a huge snake. When we got back from our ride around town, Teresa and I got out of the car and saw Holly, Lindy, Marilyn, and Thomas looking our way — we just waved and went to the car. When we opened the car door, a huge snake was lying across my car seats. We about sh-t, and they were laughing their asses off.
One time Holly and I were going riding around town we had made a concoction of a drink in a mop bucket. We were about ready to go, and Lindy came in an said he was going frog hunting. He picked up his white patent leather shoes. Holly said, I know you are not going frog hunting in those shoes he just laughed and went on. We spent the rest of the night trying to find out where he was dancing. Of course, Michael was in the back seat of the mustang reading his little books he was the best little boy. Anyway, we had some good times. — Patsy Nichols

Eudora was a wonderful place to grow up! We lived out by Ball’s grocery, so I missed out on a lot going on in! Occasionally I rode the 2 miles on highway 149 to town but dodging traffic on the road was difficult! But when I got my Moped in the 7th grade, I was there a lot!! - Billy Ball
