Bobby Ray Jones, 69, of Crossett died Saturday February 4, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR. Visitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday February 7, 2012 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. Services will be at 2pm Wednesday at Tillar Baptist Church in Tillar, AR with Rev. Larry Beatty officiating. Burial will be at Tillar Cemetery.
Bobby was born in Salina County, Kansas a son of the late Virgil and Ruth Mary Jones. He was an electrician and formerly worked for Gammel Inc. in Crossett. He also formerly worked as the manager for the cable TV in Crossett and Allied Telephone Company. He was very active with the Jaycees, the Kiwanis Club and the Chamber of Commerce. Bobby was the Past President of the Arkansas Cable TV Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, wood carving and a member of Tillar First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Overton Jones. Sons and their wives, Bobby Glen Jones (Sharon) and William A. “Bill” Jones (Lisa) all of Crossett, AR. , brother Ralph Jones of Halley, AR., sisters, Geneva Stodghill of Start, LA and Mildred Whisnant of Little Rock, AR. Grandchildren, Chris Jones, Sarah Jones, Brooks Jones, Katie Jones, Allen Jones, Stephen Stanley and Cain Stanley.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Carl Jones and Billy Robert Jones, sister Jeanetta Jones and grand-daughters Kristin Jones and Kasey Lynn Jones.
