I worked with Norman for a long time at the VA. I always considered him to be a good friend with a big smile and an even bigger heart. Norman would go out of his way to help anyone and I believe he would have given the shirt off his back if he felt like you needed it more. He helped me through some rough times by always finding a way to make me laugh. He really loved practical jokes, even when he was the receiver. You could always find Norman enjoying his coffee at the Waffle House, where several of us would gather for conversation and laugh at some of the things Norman would come up with. I would help him on occasion by taking him to his appointments with the eye doctor. Norman was there to console me when I lost my mother and gave me words of encouragemnent when I needed it the most. He was a good worker and loved working with his fellow veterans. God has surely received an angel who will not need any practice at being one in Heaven as Norman was truly an angel while here on this Earth. I will miss him dearly and hope to, one day,in Heaven, sit with him over a cup of coffee and laugh at the things he says. Norman, I will miss you and you will always remain in my heart and in my prayers.
