Clifton Ray Purtle, 70, of Dumas and formerly of McGehee, AR died Friday June 28, 2013 at Delta Memorial Hospital. Mr. Purtle was born November 2, 1942 in Hempstead County. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in McGehee, AR. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He retired from Vickers Chevrolet and Dunklin Farms.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Ward Purtle and his parents Olen “Skip” and Lida Purtle.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Newton Purtle of Dumas, AR; Son, Major Nathan Purtle (Dawn) of Bristow, VA;. Daughter, Lesley Irons (Brian) of Sheridan, AR; Stepson, Jack Throneberry (Leah) of Bryant, AR; Brother, Jerry Purtle (Corlis) of Atlanta, TX; Sister, Margie Cummings of McGehee, AR.; Grandchildren, Nick Purtle (Brittani), Tyler Woodward, Samantha Purtle, Sarah Beth and Lauren Irons, and Noah and Jade Throneberry; Numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-7pm Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral Services will be at 2pm Monday, July 1, 2013 at Antioch Baptist Church in McGehee, AR with Rev. Arlis East officiating. Burial will follow at Bluff Springs Cemetery in Nevada County, AR.
