Gladys Juanita Oliver, 82, of Mansfield, TX formally of Lake Village, AR died Friday, November 15, 2013. Gladys was born in Doddsville, MS on December 28, 1930 to the late Scott Gray and Mae McClendon Tarvin. Gladys grew up as a migrant farmer’s daughter and she attended Lakeside High School where she played basketball. She was a member of New Bethel Assembly of God Church, a prayer warrior and a very giving and generous person. She enjoyed playing solitaire. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Agee Oliver; daughters, Yvonne Patricia Coates and Linda Carol Oliver; brother, William L. Tarvin; sister, Beulah Mae Upchurch.
Survivors include daughter, Donna (Sam) Condo of Venus, TX; brother-in-law, Cleatus Oliver; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday, November 18, 2013 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in Lake Village, AR. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Payne officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
