Mary Jane Deaton, 74, of McGehee, Arkansas died Monday, July 20, 2015 in McGehee, AR. She was born on December 17, 1940 in Tillar, Arkansas to Harold Elvis and Margie Mae Bishop Maynard. Mary was a former store manager for Dollar General and she also worked for McGehee Industries. She liked to fish, play bingo, and loved to work in her flower garden. Mary was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by step-father, Charlie Lay. Survivors include her sons, Donald Ray (LaRhonda) Deaton of McGehee, AR, Roy Lee (Faye) Deaton of McGehee, AR; daughter, Cheril Owen of Houston, TX; brothers, James (Nadene) Maynard of Alton, IL, Harold Maynard of California, Freddie (Rita) Lay of WI, and Henry Lay of Dermott, AR; grandchildren, Drew (Kirby) Jamison of Dollar Hill, AR, Whitney (Jacob) Hays of McGehee, AR, Christopher Barley of Texas, Jacob Deaton of McGehee, AR, and Holt (Stephannie) Owen of TX; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Jamison, Hunter Hays, Addison Hays, and Kreed Owen.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday, July 24, 2015 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service Chapel in McGehee, AR. Burial will be at Dermott Cemetery in Dermott, AR.
