Obituary for David W. Steritz

David W.  Steritz
David W. Steritz of Lake Village, AR passed away on May 7, 2016 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center. He was born at home in Lynchburg, Ohio on June 6, 1927 to the late Howard and Lucille (Duvall) Steritz. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Steritz.
David is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Lou (Rosselott) Steritz; children: Nancy (Ronald) Dorton of Washington Court House, OH; Carol (John) Stinson of Waynesville, OH; Linda Risley of Leesburg, OH; James (Jacque) Steritz of Lake Village, AR; Susan (Charles) Moss of Gainesville, FL; and Mary Ann (Michael) Carson of Washington Court House, OH; brother: John (Lucy) Steritz of Lynchburg, OH and sister-in-law: Ruthanna Steritz of Wilmington, Oh. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren: Rebecca Dorton, David Dorton, Deborah Johnson, Sarah Sowell, Jonathan Dorton, Kevin Stinson, Catherine Hendricks, Michael Stinson, Julie Stinson, Jana Berberich, Elizabeth Jones, Nathan Steritz, Daniel Steritz, Alexander Moss, Jennifer Tetzlaff, Christopher Moss, Anna Moss, Meri Grace Carson, Graham Carson, Garrett Carson, and Gabriel Carson; and 10 great grandchildren.
David was a member of the First Church of Christ, Lynchburg, OH for many years, serving as both a Deacon and Elder. He later became a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ where he served as an Elder. After relocating to Arkansas, he was a faithful attender of the First Baptist Church in Greenville, MS and the Lake Village Baptist Church in Lake Village, AR.
David was a multi-generational farmer, in Lynchburg, OH for almost 50 years and in Lake Village since 1998. He particularly enjoyed the challenge of adapting to new methods and new equipment. He was active in many Agricultural industry groups and associations throughout his life. He also enjoyed traveling to other areas of the U. S. and foreign countries to learn about their agricultural practices.
Visitation will be held at 5-7 pm Monday, May 9, 2016 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in Lake Village, AR. Visitation will also be held at 11:00-2:00pm on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Hillsboro Church of Christ in Hillsboro, OH. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm at the church. Burial will be at Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery in Lynchburg, OH.
